Reducing carbon emissions and making the environment a cleaner and healthier place for future generations is a sound investment by itself. There is also value in reducing, and in some cases eliminating, your monthly energy expenses. Depending on the improvements you choose there are Federal, State, and Local incentives that can make "Going Green" an affordable option. Pure Eco can help you identify and apply for these incentives.
Renewable Energy Credits, or REC’s, are "credits" awarded to anyone generating energy from renewable resources. These REC's can be traded on the mandatory or voluntary carbon markets which can help to offset costs associated with the installation of the renewable system and eventually to generate revenue. Corporate or private entities purchase REC’s in order to satisfy a regulatory agency requirement or to improve their image as an environmentally friendly organization.
In October 2008, Michigan enacted Public Act 295, requiring the state’s investor-owned utilities, alternative retail suppliers, electric cooperatives and municipal electric utilities to generate 10% of their retail electricity sales from renewable energy resources by 2015. This standard also contains a series of bonus credits, termed Michigan "incentive" Renewable Energy Credits, for each megawatt-hour (MWh) of electricity generated by certain types of systems. These "incentive" REC's act in addition to the single credit that a facility receives for producing 1 MWh of electricity from a qualified resource. The bonuses are described below.
Pure Eco Environmental Solutions can manage these credits for you. We have the ability to certify and trade these credits to public utilities such as Consumers Energy, DTE Engery or Cherryland Electric Company.
